I start band next year i dont know if i should plat the flute or the clarinet? help?

I've played flute for about 6 years now. I wanted to play just cause it sounds a lot nicer and prettier than most other instruments. Flute definitely does have a huge range and it often sounds better than a clarinet. If you want to learn fast play clarinet, i was able to learn half the notes off of my friends in an hour. If you pick flute then it will take more patience and practice. It's worth it though. Oh yeah flutes don't squeak or use reeds, so that's a plus. Hope this helps
