Is Amar Akbar Anthony a remake of a hollywood film?

I saw a fragment of a film on HBO, where a man is forced to polish another's shoes..then he opts to do some nefarious job for the latter.This is similar to the scene in AAA where Pran has to polish the villain's shoes..please tell me the name of the American film.
