Earbuds never fit?!?? Why...?

I tried skullcandy all 3 sizes of the gels and they never stay in even when i really shove them in. the things that work best for me are the normal earbuds that ipods come with. the reg white ones. why is this and is there anything i can do because i would like to get the skullcandy fmj's for my droid x
