I am getting braces.....I got some questions?

I am getting braces on April 3. I want to know the basics on what I should do to keep them clean, can i play my instruments w/ them (flute, clarinet, piccolo) and do they hurt???I also wanted to know what type of products i should use to keep them clean. Thxs for the help:)
